A Case of traumatic myiasis in a dog caused by Lucilia sericata (Diptera: Calliphoridae)

A male dog was brought to the Selcuk University, Faculty of Veterinary Clinics with the complaint of injury. On examination, hundreds of larvae were observed around its left ear. Larvae were identified depending on the morphological characters of the anterior spiracles, cephalo-pharyngeal skeleton and slits of the posterior spiracles. The larvae were detected as the third stage larvae of Lucilia sericata.
